The Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) measures Washington students’ readiness in math. Administered March–June, it covers the full scope of the Washington K-12 Learning Standards: Mathematics (WA Standards).
At the grade 3 math level, the SBA tests a full range of skills including multiplication & division, place value & computation, fractions, time, mass & volume. Assessment formats include multiple-choice, open-ended, and performance-based questions.
Each practice test is modeled after the actual SBA — same topics, same types of questions, and the same level of challenge.
