About the Maine Through Year Assessment (MTYA)
The Maine Through Year Assessment (MTYA) is administered to Maine students fall and spring. It is the state’s primary measure of math achievement, aligned to the Maine Learning Results: Mathematics (MLR).
On the MTYA, grade 4 math students are assessed across topics such as multi-digit operations, place value & number sense, fractions & decimals, measurement & unit conversion, and additional areas. Expect a mix of multiple-choice, short-answer, and performance-based questions.

About MLR Math Standards
Under Maine’s Maine Learning Results: Mathematics (MLR), grade 4 math students are expected to gain proficiency in 6 domains:
