About the Readiness Improvement Success Empowerment (RISE)
The Readiness Improvement Success Empowerment (RISE) is the official math assessment for Utah students. Administered March–May, it evaluates student mastery of the skills and concepts outlined in the Utah Core Standards for Mathematics (UT Core).
The grade 4 math RISE evaluates skills in multi-digit operations, place value & number sense, fractions & decimals, measurement & unit conversion and beyond. Question formats include multiple-choice, written-response, and performance tasks.
Each practice test is modeled after the actual RISE — same topics, same types of questions, and the same level of challenge.
