About the Delaware System of Student Assessment (DeSSA)
During February–May, Delaware students participate in the Delaware System of Student Assessment (DeSSA), a statewide assessment covering math skills required by the Delaware Content Standards for Mathematics (DE Standards).
The grade 5 math portion of the DeSSA tests students on a wide range of topics, including decimal operations, fraction operations, expressions & patterns, volume & measurement, and more. Questions include multiple-choice, short-answer, and sometimes performance-based items.
