About the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA)
The New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) is New Jersey’s annual statewide math test for elementary students. Taken during April–May, it assesses mastery of New Jersey Student Learning Standards: Mathematics (NJSLS) standards.
The grade 5 math portion of the NJSLA tests students on a wide range of topics, including decimal operations, fraction operations, expressions & patterns, volume & measurement, and more. Questions include multiple-choice, short-answer, and sometimes performance-based items.
