About the Vermont Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC)
Every year during March–June, Vermont students sit for the Vermont Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC) — a comprehensive math assessment aligned to the Vermont Common Core State Standards: Mathematics (VT CCSS).
For the grade 5 math portion, the SBAC includes questions on decimal operations, fraction operations, expressions & patterns, volume & measurement, plus additional topics. Expect multiple-choice, short-answer, and performance-based question types.
