The New Mexico Measures of Student Success and Achievement (NM-MSSA) measures New Mexico students’ readiness in math. Administered March–May, it covers the full scope of the New Mexico Common Core State Standards: Mathematics (NM CCSS).

The NM-MSSA at the grade 5 math level covers a broad range of math skills, including decimal operations, fraction operations, expressions & patterns, volume & measurement. Question types range from multiple-choice to short-answer and performance tasks.
