About the Maine Through Year Assessment — High School Math (MTYA)
Designed around the Maine Learning Results: Mathematics (MLR), the Maine Through Year Assessment — High School Math (MTYA) is Maine’s annual Algebra 1 assessment, taken during fall and spring.
The Algebra 1 MTYA tests students on foundations of algebra, linear equations & inequalities, introduction to functions, linear functions & graphing, systems of equations & inequalities, and more. Questions include multiple-choice, short-answer, and sometimes performance-based items.
Each practice test is modeled after the actual MTYA — same topics, same types of questions, and the same level of challenge.
