Georgia students take the Georgia Milestones — Algebra: Concepts & Connections End-of-Course (Milestones EOC) to demonstrate proficiency in Algebra 1 concepts. The test is given April–May and measures mastery of the Georgia K-12 Mathematics Standards of Excellence (GSE).

The Algebra 1 Milestones EOC tests students on foundations of algebra, linear equations & inequalities, introduction to functions, linear functions & graphing, systems of equations & inequalities, and more. Questions include multiple-choice, short-answer, and sometimes performance-based items.
